Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has urged the government to legalize the use of marijuana in the loving memory of the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth. Ngunyi claims that the late Ken Okoth, who was crusading for the legalization of marijuana, tried to have Parliament compel the executive to legalize the drug, but was fought by Ruto’s brigade whom he has termed as the ‘holier than thou.’
“In fond memory of Hon Ken Okoth, Kenya should legalize Weed. Ken tried to do it, but the ‘holier than thou’ Ruto BRIGADE stopped him. Yet Kenya is a confirmed ganja Republic. And the Hustler Nation is NOT a Ruto bible belt. It is a den of weed-smoking sinners,” his Twitter post read.
The pro-Uhuru analyst made his remarks in the backdrop of the worldwide 420 celebrations.
Today, cannabis users across the globe will be lighting up to celebrate 420
The annual event is observed as a means of celebrating marijuana use, while also campaigning for it to become legalized in parts of the world where it is prohibited
